Now You Can Own a Piece of History!Atocha Silver is More Pure than Sterling Silver! The silver coin was hand cast using a formulated blend of silver ingots recovered from the Sunken Treasure of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha and fine Sterling Silver. The Nuestra Senora de Atocha (Our Lady of Atocha) Spanish Galleon shipwrecked on September 5, 1622, when it struck a reef during a hurricane and sank in the Florida keys, taking with her 264 souls. The Galleon contained 47 troy tons of treasure, which were scattered over 50 miles of the ocean floor. Only 5 people survived the wreck. The treasure remained buried at sea until 1985 when salvager Mel Fisher found the mother lode. This coin contains Atocha Silver that is over 370 years old. The coin is a limited edition. It is shipped in the original Mel Fisher packaging with a Certificate of Authenticity. I bought this pendant in 1984 on a cruise ship. I paid 25.00 for it. Later bought earrings from this source. I loved my pendant and the story it carries. I shined it so much I rubbed the gold overly nearly off the outer edge. I suddenly lost it a month ago..my chain came undone and it fell in the toilet. I did not realize it till after I flushed. I was distraught! After all I had it for 30 years. I finally accepted the loss by telling myself it had gone back to the sea.....then I ordered another from your site. Wow..it came and I love it!! Thanks for continuing the sales. It was 3x the price I originally paid. But I cherish it.

Looks very nice from a distance but the silver is very light and paper thin. I was expecting something that had just a little more heft to it.
You could have made it a little bit thicker. It’s too light. Only a minimal amount of silver. I suspect there is actually very little silver in it and that it is mostly “base metals” mixed in to give it some strength.
We encourage our customers that are not happy with their purchase to return it for a refund or an exchange. We will gladly direct you to pendants that are thicker and heavier. Please note the weight is listed in the description of all our pendants. Your suspicion is incorrect. Our coins are made with a blend of Atocha silver and Sterling silver. We sell our pendants on eBay where are a regularly authenticated to be exactly what we say they are by an independent authenticator in Carlsbad, CA.

It's a pretty piece but I would have really expected silver to weigh more than plastic. In your hand, it feels like cheap plastic. It just wasn't what I was expecting.

I was so thrilled to get my pendant, which arrived quicker than I thought it might. I also bought one for my sister so we can both wear them and she just loves hers too. It’s really fine quality with a bit of weight in it, it’s as good as the photos and I love the history. I thought brilliant value for the money and I’m absolutely thrilled. I would definitely recommend. Thank you. As an edit, the gold outer edge has completely rubbed off, within the first month which was disappointing.
